About The Founder
Professor Isaac Olakanmi Abimbola hails from Odo-Ijesa in Atakunmosa East Local Government Area of Osun State, Nigeria. With a distinguished career in academia spanning decades, and as a foundation member of staff of the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria, Professor Abimbola retired in 2018. He had received a prestigious long service award during the institution’s 25th Anniversary in 2001 and a meritorious service award upon retirement.
His educational journey started at St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Primary School, Odo-Ijesa, and Wesley College, Ibadan, where he pursued his initial teacher education. He furthered his studies at the renowned University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, earning a B.Sc. in Science Education (Biology/Chemistry). Subsequently, he obtained his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees from the esteemed University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA.
Throughout his career, Professor Abimbola has been actively engaged in research, teaching, and community service, and has contributed significantly to the field of science education. He has held various leadership roles at the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria, including Head of the Department of Curriculum Studies and Educational Technology, Foundation Director of the Centre for Research, Development, and In-House Training (CREDIT), and Dean of the Postgraduate School.
In addition to his tenure at the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria, Professor Abimbola served as Provost of Osun State College of Education, Ilesa, and held visiting professorships at specialized universities such as Michigan Technological University, Houghton, Michigan, USA, and Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, Nigeria. As a TRCN-certified teacher with experience across all levels of education, Professor Abimbola is also recognized as a Certified Applied Scholastics International Master Instructor.
Currently, he channels his expertise as an Educational Consultant, and Knowledge Technologist, spearheading Excellent Learning Technology Ltd. in Ilesa, Nigeria. In rendering continuing community service, Professor Abimbola is currently the President, Odo-Ijesa Development Association, and Chairman, Board of Governors, Odo-Ijesa High School, Odo-Ijesa. Outside of academia, Professor Abimbola enjoys pursuits in photography and music. He is a devoted family man, cherishing time spent with his children and grandchildren.
